Yessica completed an internship during the rotating internship in radiology and gastroenterology specialties at Harvard Medical School in 2011. She graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Antioquia, achieving the highest GPA in the medicine program (2011). Additionally, she was honored with the Manuel Uribe Ángel Award granted by the Medellín Academy of Medicine (2011). She pursued a specialization in Endocrinology at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, during which she received a Scholarship for achieving the best postgraduate average and the Best Research Work Award presented at the biennial obstetrics and gynecology congress in March 2019.
Yessica graduated as an endocrinologist in April 2018. Later, she pursued a Master’s degree in Obesity at the European University Miguel de Cervantes (2021). She holds an MBA in Health Coaching from the European School of Health and is internationally certified by SCOPE for Obesity Management. Additionally, she is a member of the Colombian Association of Endocrinology. As an endocrinologist, she has been working in Medellín since 2018 with Promedan IPS, SURA EPS, and Christus Sinergia Salud. She is also part of the endocrinology group at the Center for Comprehensive Endocrine Pathology Management at Otmaro Belalcázar, where she specializes in obesity and overweight issues.
